Billy BUCHANAN

I was married to Billy Buchanan for 19 years.  The most wonderful husband, father and best friend a lady could ever ask to have.  As all of you know Billy was that person.  He left us way too young and left me with God’s greatest gift:  Three wonderful children; Jason, Dallan and Crystal.  We miss him dearly and love him more and more everyday. -- Shirley Payne

Larry W. COOPER

Larry Cooper was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on September 29, 2005. He lived only 73 days more and passed away on December 10, 2005. His oncologist said he bravely fought a horrible illness and will be missed by many. He worked for the St. Jude Showcase of Dogs every October since it's beginning 10 years ago and the Showcase in October of 2006 will be dedicated to his memory because without his efforts, the Showcase wouldn't be what it is today. "He made a difference in a lot of the lives he touched. I think of him every day and miss him and his wit and humor." -- Cheryle Strait Fisher

Jones Barnett HUSKEY Jr

He graduated from Memphis State University in 1972 where he received a law degree and began practicing law in Memphis. He moved to Houston during the 1970’s and was employed by Victor Blaine & Associates for a number of years until relocating his practice to Galveston. He was a criminal lawyer for many years in the Houston-Galveston area.

He married Vashti Roberts Huskey in 1982 where they spent the next 25 years camping, traveling to Jamaica, taking cruises and wringing the joy out of every moment in their lives until her untimely death in December 2005.

Robert Bryan FINK

Died April 2007. He was the owner of Bryan's Carpets, Memphis; veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps; was a member of Cherokee Baptist Church, loved to fish, loved his home, family, and dogs. Buried in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

Jennie JONES Johnson

Jennie graduated early and so is not in the Yearbook. She married Nick Johnson. They moved to Wisconsin in 1964. Jennie died in 2003.

William Michael McKINLEY

Died December 2, 2006 in Memphis. Bll was retired from the FBI. He left behind a loving wife, Linda, four children and their spouses, and 10 grandchildren, all in Memphis.

Karl MASHBURN

Died November 4, 2007, in McKenzie. He was born in Memphis, son of the late Leon and Rheba Grace McDaniel Mashburn Manning who survives. Mr. Mashburn attended Union University and Memphis State University with a B.A. Major in Psychology and Sociology and received his M.S.W. from the University of Georgia. He served as the first director of the Madison County Juvenile Group Home, was Director of Children and Youth Services of Jackson Mental Health Center (now Pathways) in Jackson and later Paris, TN and served other positions in Psychiatric Social Work. Mr. Mashburn was an ordained Baptist Minister and has served several pastorates. He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.

Lois ODOM Mize

Lois was born in August of 1946.  I was married to her for 38 and half years.  Lois had cancer for 8 years.  We did everything we could and when God called, she answered. She had one son, one daugther and  four grandchildren. Lois, was my first love...   -- Johnny Mize

Phyllis PALAZZINI Cotherman

Phyllis died February 2006 following a long courageous battle with cancer.  She was
born December 1945 in Bayonne, NJ, to the late Ruth (Hamby) and Ernest Palazinni.  She graduated from Overton High School in 1964. Phyllis enjoyed many hobbies but her favorite was making angels and distributing them to the
children with cancer and to the nursing staff.  She helped raise funds for the Lymphoma Society,  Phyllis is survived by her husband, Robert; four sisters, Scottie Miller of Dallas, TX, Betty Creason of Corinth, Ms,  Rita
Hayes and Barbara Muskelley, both of Memphis; her beloved stepmother Doris
Palazzini, other relatives and friends.

Lenny REED

"Lenny Reed, married to Sandi Baldwin (Class of '63) Reed Alexander. Lenny died of cancer August 15, 1986 in Houston, Texas.  Lenny left two sons, Trey and Michael and one daughter Melissa.  Today, that family has grown to six grandchildren.   How proud Lenny would be." -- Jane Smith Hardin '63

PFC - E3 - Army - 25th Infantry Division. Mickey was killed in Vietnam on 27 June 1966, two months after arriving in Vietnam.

Larry W. WOOD

Larry died in an accident July 17, 2007 in Erie, PA. He was an over-the-road driver for Yellow Freight for 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Audrey Wood; children, Tim Wood (Angie), Darla Mangold (Will); and grandson, Spencer Morgan. He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union for over 30 years and a Mason with the Unity Lodge #95.
